A trip to Dubai

Dear Colleagues,

Hello, everyone! I am a foreign trade salesman of an LED display company. I recently went to the beautiful city of Dubai on a business trip. Today, I am very happy to share with you the experience and knowledge of this business trip.

Before the business trip, I made full personal preparation. First, I prepared personal toiletries and skincare products, such as daily toiletries towels, small volume shower creams and shampoos, makeup, slippers, etc. In addition, I brought a convertible plug, an umbrella, a tampon (for girls), and some common medicines, such as cold medicine, stomach medicine, and motion sickness medicine, in case of emergency. Also, I changed some local currency in advance so I could use it in Dubai. For accommodation, I booked a hotel on Booking or Ctrip in advance and paid attention to personal safety issues to minimize going out at night.

In terms of document preparation, I brought copies of my passport, round-trip ticket and hotel reservation, and prepared nucleic acid test reports in Chinese and English. In addition, I also prepared a bank card (dual currency VISA) to ensure smooth transactions and spending in Dubai.

For getting around, I downloaded local car-hailing apps like Uber, Careem and Google Map in advance and got an international driver\'s license so I could drive myself when needed. In terms of communication, I have opened the global Tone mobile phone service in advance, and purchased a local data card on Taobao in advance, so as to ensure that I can maintain good communication and Internet connection in Dubai.

In terms of work preparation, I prepared a customer visit form, and set up a meeting time with potential customers who have done background checks or customers who have placed orders in advance. I also brought a notebook, pen, computer and charger, and brought a power adapter to fit the local power jack. In addition, I also prepared gifts for clients and personal business cards (e-cards) to show the professional image of our company. Before departure, I made customer arrangement and planning in advance to ensure the smooth progress of work during the business trip.

When I arrived in Dubai, I met with the client at the appointed time. In the process, I dress appropriately, be generous, and keep my spirits up. I also prepared a gift to show our company's sincerity and gratitude. For the project under negotiation, I prepared the required materials in advance, such as quotation, project case, company profile, business card and so on.

After meeting clients, I interact with them in a timely manner, such as expressing pleasure to see them or making friendly greetings. After the communication with the customer, I will timely reply and record the meeting content. If the project details are involved, I will summarize and edit the email to confirm with the customer.

Through this business trip, I deeply realized the importance of preparation and the value of face-to-face communication with customers. Phone calls or emails alone cannot fully convey the details and emotions of communication. At the same time, personal safety and health care during business trips are of Paramount importance, and we should always remain vigilant and attentive.
